***MY REVIEW***
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review, and an honest review you shall get*

From the Prologue I was instantly drawn into the story. It starts off with a traumatic event that Rebecca was a part of. Rebecca Potts a.k.a. "Becca" is now broken and lost because the one person she felt she couldn't live without is now gone.
The story evolves around Becca shutting out the world because she's still silently mourning. She experiences bad dreams every night reliving some moments of the traumatic event. Her brother Alec (who is the sweetest and protective big brother I've ever read about) is trying to pull her out of the shadow and is determine to show her what it is to start living again.

Alec convinces Becca to go to Lakehead University with him for a couple of days and there she formed friendships with her brother's friends Jacob and Keegan.
I loved them both but will have to say that I was rooting for one more than the other. Keegan was smart, sexy, protective and a great friend. I wanted to yell at him because of some of his decisions. Sometimes I felt like I wasn't sure of his intent with Becca but I got over it.

Then we have Jacob or "Jakey" as Becca called him. He is rich, smart, sexy and another protective friend. Becca and Jakey formed a great friendship that had everyone else questioning their relationships. Just friends or in a relationship?
I enjoyed the story overall but won't lie about wanting to throw my kindle at the wall because of Becca and her decisions. I kept telling myself she was only 18 and in college. I liked that she seem to be getting her act together at the end of the book. She started to build confidence and was trying to live her life the way she wanted. But I couldn't handle all the crying, I kept saying "again".

About  80% into the book that when the story started to cook for me. Wow, there were so many twist and turns, ups and downs, old boyfriends making an appearance (not a good thing) that I swear I was in an episode of Criminal Minds.
What an interesting turn of events, my gosh I should have had some popcorn along with a drink to watch it all unfold. My heart was jumping and I was on the edge of my seat.
Lets not talk about the end of the book. My god, be warn you are going to be shouting "what the hell, nooooooooo?" .
Definitely a must read, if you want to be on a ride with The Lonely Girl!

Worth The Fight by VI Keeland

Worth The Fight
Author: VI Keeland
Adult Contemporary Romance
Stars: 4.5

 ***BLURB***

It didn't matter that the ref called it a clean hit. Nico Hunter would never be the same.

Elle has a good life. A job she loves, a great apartment, and the guy she's been dating for more than two years is a catch and a half. But it's boring...and she strives to keep it that way. Too many emotions are dangerous. Her own past is living proof of what can happen when you lose control.

Then Nico walks into Elle's office and everything changes...for both of them. But what can the tattooed, hard-bodied MMA fighter and the beautiful and always steady attorney have in common? A lot more than they bargained for.

***Author's note***
THIS IS A STAND-ALONE NOVEL. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

***MY REVIEW***

Worth The Fight was told from an alternating POV and was worth every penny I spent.
The story was about:

Nico Hunter a super hot MMA fighter. A tattooed, Alpha, bad ass that trained like nobody's business.

Nico is first introduced when he enters an office with his Lawyer William, who hoped to get a second opinion from his friend and bed-mate Elle. Nico wanted out of an endorsement contract because he did not agree with the methods in which they were making their products. Instantly, you could feel the sparks in the air when Elle enters the room and he can't take his eyes of her. He wants her, he wants to mark her as his.

"I know I could have taken it further after that kiss. But I don't want on night with Elle. I want more. I have no idea why, but I do. A lot fucking more"

I liked that Nico knows he's hot and confident but I was really happy when the possessive side of him came out (hot! hot! hot!).

" I don't share Elle"
"Mine"

Nico is having emotionally issues because of his last fight. Even though the result of that fight was an accident Nico cannot seem to bring himself to go back into the cage. The memories taunt him, so he trained harder than he had ever trained before. Nothing seems to be enough for him to step back into the cage but when he meets Elle something in him changes and he wants to prove himself  not only to others but to Elle.

"But today I woke up and saw a glimmer of sun breaking in from under the cloud I've carried around with me for the past year"

Then we have Elle.

Elle as you already know is a lawyer in a small firm. She was in a casual fling with William her old college friend but is finding his bed skills to be lacking.  Emotionally withdrawn from William and most people around her, she is surprised when Nico walks in and she is instantly drawn to him.

I liked Elle. I felt that she was strong, sweet and also caring despite coming from an abusive childhood. Elle also feels haunted by what happened one night in her childhood home and is trying to forget.

"I'm afraid I'm not good enough for you. That I'll drag you down into the hell that I belong in with me"

You can't help but feel the emotional rollercoaster both Elle and Nico goes through. They share secrets, their relationship is tested. Will their relationship last? Will Nico and Elle overcome the emotional barriers they face? The only way to find out is to read the book.

The sex, OMG. I think that VI Keeland is very good at descriptive writing and my imagination was right there with every word that I read. I wanted a glass of cold water and even got up to open my bedroom window. (hot! hot! hot!)

The only thing I didn’t like about Worth the Fight was that the ending which seemed to be rushed. I wanted so much more details when it came to the ending. I was left feeling unfulfilled.
Other than that I would definitely recommend this book to anyone and want them to experience the journey that is "Worth The Fight"

****FAVOURITE QUOTES****
" I want you"....
"so take me." I whisper on a small moan as his teeth sink into my ear.
"No. I want you to give yourself to me. I want you, Elle. All of you"

"Elle baked cookies to bring, which is sweet, but I'm going to have to hide them from the kids to save them from possible food poisoning."

" You're my soul mate. As sappy as it sounds, it's god damn true. Nothing has ever been truer in my life. So no, I'm not worried about this fight not helping me heal from my past , because it's you who does that for me"

REVIEW~ Ruin by Rachel Van Dyken

Ruin
Author: Rachel Van Dyken
Ratings: 4 Wonderful Stars
***Blurb***

I'm not your typical girl. I've been running away from the memories that haunt me for so long that depression has become my only comfort. I was content in the darkness...until Weston Michels offered to be my light.

I didn't know that time wasn't my ally -- that every second that ticked past was one step closer to the end of something that was beginning to mean the end of myself. He tried to warn me. He promised me all he was able to offer--each moment as it came--but it would never be enough.

Sometimes when you think it's the end, it's only the beginning. Wes thought he could save me, but in giving me everything, he ruined me. Because after one kiss, one touch, I couldn't--I wouldn't ever be the same.

And from that moment on, his heartbeat became my own

***My Review***

Let me start by saying that this was the first book I've read by Rachel Van Dyken and must say I'm hooked. I originally bought this book because of the reviews on Goodreads and was not disappointment in my choice. I started the book while at work and as soon as the tears started I had to stop. I stopped only because the last time I cried at work reading a book I became the topic of the office lol. This was truly a heartwarming, cute love story which I absolutely adored.

The Story began with Kiersten "Charlie" Rowe. An 18 year old freshman at college. Kiersten was running from her past and the memories of a tragedy.  Even though she tried to move on from what happened, she had a sense of guilt because of the tragedy and thus suffered from depression. She was always in the shadows until she met Wes.

Wes I couldn't do anything else but love him. He was hot, charming, funny and really enjoyed life to the fullest. A college RA he met Kiersten on her first day of orientation and he seemed to be stuck to her after that. Sounds great, doesn't it? Except he threaten to break our hearts with the secrets he was keeping and demons he faced. West might appear to have everything; Money, Fame as a football player and his family was rich but he wished for something that others took for granted "a good heart".

The story was told in an alternating POV which I loved because it gives you a great insight into both characters. The journey in following both Wes and Kiersten was an uphill battle but well worth all the emotions attached.
Did I mentioned how much I loved WES?
This is why I loved Weston:
"I'm going to taste you like you deserved to be tasted"

"I'm going to make it so hard for you to forget this first kiss that you don't want anyone else kissing you ever again. When the guy you fall in love with kisses you-it better put this kiss to shame-if it doesn't then the isn't the right guy"

If you haven't read it yet I want you to one-click now. It's a wonderful love story about overcoming tragedy, finding strength to overcome darkness and believing. The secondary characters will have you laughing so hard.
I wished the story was a little longer but I wish every story was longer.

***More of my favourite quotes***

"Stay," he whispered in a hoarse voice.
"Stay with me."
"In your room?"
"No. On the roof." He chuckled in my ear.
"Yes, in my room.  What if I promise not to touch you?"
" I turned around to send him one last seething glare and ran smack dab into a tree.
Or at least it felt like a tree"

BLOODLUST- Cover Reveal

Hi, everyone! Nicole Zoltack here and I'm so happy to share with you the cover for my upcoming release.

Isn't it just beautiful? And it's perfect for the story.

Here's the blurb for BLOODLUST, a NA epic fantasy romance.

In a world torn by prejudice and hatred, six races struggled for supremacy.

Desperation…

Barbarian-Princess Ivy is unwilling to allow her father to provoke the other races into war and forms an unlikely alliance with Lukor the goliath to save her people from utter destruction.

Betrayal…

Unbeknownst to her, Lukor blames the barbarians for murdering his sister and plans on sabotaging her goal.

Bloodlust…

Almost despite each other, they grow to respect each other on their journey to decode secret messages from the trolls. But nothing Ivy can do will prevent the war as her father is blinded by Bloodlust and incites it himself. Not even killing him and becoming Barbaroness can stop the tide. And when Bloodlust claims Ivy, forcing her to kill everyone in her path, she must make a choice to destroy even Lukor, who she may have started to fall for and him in return.

The cover is so fitting, am I right?

The story will be released on February 24th. Ack! So excited. I'd love for you to share this and I'd even kiss you if you add it on Goodreads.

What do you think about the cover? The blurb? Does it sound like something you'd like to read?

Mirage by Ashley Suzanne

MIRAGE (destined #1)
Ratings:4 1/2 (re-read worthy)

****Blurb*****

Mira and Kylee met Danny and Skylar during freshman orientation, their first week of college. Two sets of best friends embark on a new adventure together, forming life long bonds.

Mira and Danny are looking forward to their future as husband and wife. Everything was going according to plan. That was until tragedy struck them on graduation night leaving three broken people to pick up the pieces.

Skylar has always stood in the background, watching his best friend begin a life with the woman he fell in love with until he can longer keep a distance.

Right when Mira thinks her life is back on track it spirals out of control. With if everything you thought you knew was nothing more than a mirage?

****My Review****

I was so happy that I decided to try this book out. I cried, laughed and to be honest I shouted out a few profanities at times. This book was very interesting with all the curve balls, potential love connections and awakenings.

The story starts with following Mira and her healing process after losing someone close to her. We see her internal struggles to pick herself up from the tragedy she experienced. With Mira's other best friends Skylar and Kylee they help her slowly start to go back to her old self. All three friends experienced the same lost however Skylar and Mira took it the hardest.

Overall, I enjoyed Mira's character. I wished at times  she would get her feeling together and stop denying faith. There is no doubt that there was a connection between her and Skylar.

Skylar Mcbride, I think I proposed marriage a couple of times while reading the book. Ok, maybe marriage is out of the question with a fictional character however I will stick to naming my first born son Skylar.
Skylar is hot, confident, charming, caring and funny. He was a great friend to both Mira and Danny. You can't help but feel his pain throughout this book when  it came to him secretly loving Mira.

Skylar:

You have hurt me in the worst possible way Mira. This pain that I feel, you will never experience. I wasn’t even worth a phone call”

So much changed between both Mira and Skylar and when I thought that finally they got it together “bam” another curve ball.
The curve ball above was the least of my worries, at chapter 18 I had a “WTF” moment. I honestly had to go back a few pages to see what I missed, I truly didn’t see that one coming. What a great and mind blowing way to end a story. Some might call it a cliffhanger, I call it genius.

I would definitely encourage anyone to read this book and even the series.

****Favourite quotes*******

Skylar: “ Open you eyes , sweets. I need you here with me. I'm not going to last too much longer. You feel way to good. My own little piece of heaven”

Here's what i need you to do, other than lay there and enjoy. You're going to use your hands to open yourself for me, and keep it open. I'm going to devour you, just so you know”*sigh*

Trouble by Samantha Towle

Trouble
Ratings: 4 Stars

***Blurb***

Jordan Matthews likes easy. Easy women. Easy life.

Then he meets Mia.
She's damaged, troubled and has more baggage than any person can carry. But the more Jordan gets to know Mia-for the first time in his life-he finds himself wanting to try hard for her something....for someone....for her.

Jordan is everything Mia shouldn't want. A whole bunch of dirty hotness, tattooed, cocky bad boy, who made his money at poker tables and picked up women up in bars. Yet, Mia finds herself falling for him. Then the past Mia was running from, quickly starts to catch up with her. Because that's the problem with running... you have to stop sometime.
And when you stop, you get caught...

*** My Review***

From the first page into this book, I knew that I was in for a good intense read. It showed Mia as heartless and it had me curious to know why she showed no emotions when her father left her unexpectedly.
In Trouble, we learn about some of the things Mia went through at the hands of her abusive father. She was broken in so many ways.
My heart broke for this poor girl.
***Mia***
"Men don't touch me gently. Not like this. Not ever"

I actually liked Mia. Despite of everything she was strong, caring and was ready to start living her life for the first time.

Mia, felt that she was free from everything that her father created and thought she was in love with Forbes, but boy was she wrong.
I disliked her ex-boyfriend Forbes. I wanted to reach into the book and pull him out by his hair. The way he treated Mia was beyond anything a woman should have to go through. Something happened when Mia pays Forbes an unexpected visit and I smiled when Mia decided that she had had enough and fought her way out, literally!. She leaves Boston and decides to go on the road which eventually leads her on a journey to find someone from her past.

When she arrives in the town where she believes the person from her past lives, she is recommended a hotel by a waitress and this is where she meets Jordan.

Jordan Matthews, ladies and gentlemen was very funny, a smart ass that curses like no one I’ve read about. I think every other word he said was an F-bomb or something else, I thought it was funny.
Jordan also had his own issues and demons from his past plus I will add he was a womanizer but I still loved him.

***Jordan***
shit, don't cry. I don't do crying chicks”

She's a guest at the hotel. She has more baggage than JFK”
“ I just know when it reaches this point with a woman. And that's when I’m done. I'm not a cuddler. I fuck. The end”

Samantha takes us on a journey with Mia and Jordan as their get to know each other and attempt to find out more about the person Mia is looking for. A lot of curve balls were thrown that was definitely not expected but it was good.

I really enjoyed the book but will admit that there were times that I wish it would move along a little faster. I can only take so much of the back and forth between a man and a woman until they decided to be together.
